Product Overview

KIPMONT Diamond Hand Profile Wheels are designed to create the most commonly used countertop edge profiles, including demi-bullnose (half bullnose), full bullnose, beveled, ogee, straight (square), and eased edges. They are suitable for a wide range of materials, including quartz, granite, marble, engineered stone, porcelain, concrete, limestone, travertine, bluestone, and many others.

Typical applications include shaping and profiling countertop edges, sink cutouts, vanity tops, shower curbs, pool coping, wall caps, stair nosings and many other stone fabrication projects. They can also be used to create laminated and built-up countertop edges that achieve the thick-edge look, and are equally suitable for new fabrica on, edge repair and modification work commonly found in kitchen remodeling and renovation projects.

The wheels fit most angle grinders and polishers with a standard 5/8”-11 thread spindle, allowing users to work on-site using their existing tools without the need for dedicated profiling equipment. Even users with limited experience can create professional edge profiles. Suitable for countertop fabricators, installers, contractors, remodelers, stone professionals, and DIY users.

Vacuum brazed diamond technology provides fast shaping and long service life. The CNC machined steel body maintains its shape during use for accurate profiling. The nylon guide helps the wheel follow the stone surface smoothly, creating a consistent profile without scratching the stone, while the built-in bearing helps control cuttinng depth and prevent overcutting.

Usage Instructions

➊ Preparation

Step Details
Secure Installation Install the KIPMONT profile wheel securely onto the tool before use.
Water Supply Can be used wet or dry. A small amount of water is recommended whenever possible to reduce heat & dust. For wet polishers, allow a light water flow through the tool. For tools without water feed, use a spray bottle or wet cloth to keep the work surface wet. Avoid excessive water.
Safety Gear Wear safety glasses, gloves and a dust mask.

➋Operation Steps

① Positioning

  • Keep the nylon guide firmly against the stone surface at all times.

②Profiling

  • Keep the hand profiler against the edge.
  • Move with smooth, even passes along the edge.
  • Do not force the tool. Use light pressure and let the tool do the work.

③Completion Check

  •  Profiling is complete when grinding noise becomes minimal.

Tips

WHEN TO USE A MEDIUM-GRIT PROFILE WHEEL

In most applications, the coarse-grit wheel is followed by polishing.

After the coarse-grit wheel, you may also use a medium-grit wheel before polishing to create a smoother surface.

In some applications, a medium-grit finish may be all that is needed.

THIN MATERIAL APPLICATIONS

If the stone thickness is equal to or less than the profile size, the built-in bearing may not contact the edge properly.

In this case, clamp a flat support strip beneath the stone edge to increase the effective thickness and provide a guide surface for the bearing.

POLISHING STARTING GRIT

For profiles created with a coarse-grit wheel, polishing typically starts with a 50-grit polishing pad.

For profiles created with a medium-grit wheel, polishing can typically start with a 100-grit polishing pad.

TOOL SPEED

Run the tool at a speed that provides smooth operation and good control.

Excessive vibration is a sign that the speed may be too high.

USE ADAPTERS

Angle grinders with M14 thread spindles can be used with a 5/8"-11 to M14 adapter.

Maintenance & Storage

✅ Clean the profile wheel after each use to remove debris and slurry.
✅ If water is used for cleaning, dry the wheel thoroughly before storage.
✅ Store in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight and corrosive substances.
✅ Inspect periodically for signs of wear or damage. Replace worn wheels as needed.

Safety Guidelines

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves and a dust mask.
  • Keep both hands on the tool during operation.
  • Disconnect power before changing or inspecting profile wheels.
  • Keep bystanders at a safe distance during operation.
