Product Description

KIPMONT Diamond Polishing Drum Wheels are designed for polishing undermount sink cutout edges, inside edges, tight radius edges, and wide curves on kitchen countertops and bathroom vanity tops. Suitable for granite, quartz, marble, terrazzo, concrete, and other countertop materials. Ideal for stone fabricators, countertop installers, remodel contractors, craftsmen, and DIY users.

KIPMONT polishing drum wheels are available in 1 Inch and 2 Inch diameters.

The 1 Inch size is designed for tight radius edges, small inside corners, and narrow polishing areas where larger drum wheels and polishing pads are difficult to use. Compatible with most angle grinders and wet polishers.

The 2 Inch size is designed for wide curves, larger polishing paths, and inside edge polishing applications. Compatible with most variable speed angle grinders and wet  polishers. For best results, 2 Inch models are recommended to operate between 3,000-5,000 RPM.

A Light Color Version is also available, specially developed for light-colored engineered stone and marble.

All drum wheels feature a standard 5/8"-11 thread compatible with most angle grinders, variable speed angle grinders, and wet polishers. Drill use requires an adapter.

Each set includes 7 grits: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, and 3000 for the complete polishing process from coarse to fine.

All models feature a 1-3/4" working height designed for most countertop edge polishing applications.

Wet use is recommended during polishing. Use water, keep the tool moving evenly across the surface, and avoid excessive pressure during operation for best polishing performance.

Usage Instructions

➊ Preparation

Secure Installation Install the drum wheel securely onto the tool before use.
Water Supply Use water during polishing. For wet polisher tools, allow a light water flow through the tool. For tools without water feed, use a spray bottle or wet cloth to keep the surface wet. Avoid excessive water.
Safety Gear Wear safety glasses, gloves, and a dust mask.

➋ Choose Starting Grit

  • For prepared and even surfaces, start from 50 grit and continue through the finer grits.
  • For uneven surfaces, use a grinding drum wheel first to make the surface even before starting from 50 grit.
  • For dull surfaces, start with 400 grit or finer grits depending on the surface condition.

➌ Step-by-Step Polishing

  • After choosing the starting grit, do not skip grits during the polishing process.
  • After each grit, wipe the surface clean with a wet cloth before moving to the next grit.
  • Use low RPM and water during polishing. Do not stay in one spot. Keep the tool moving evenly across the surface with an up-and-down motion while polishing inside edges  and curved areas.
  • Do not force the tool. Use light pressure and let the tool do the work.

Tips

  • For harder stones such as granite and quartzite, using a medium grit grinding drum wheel after coarse grinding can help improve surface preparation before polishing.
  • Power tools with M14 thread spindles can be used with a 5/8"-11 to M14 adapter.
  • Drills can be used with a 5/8”-11 to 1/2” shank adapter.

Maintenance & Storage

  • Rinse drum wheels thoroughly after each use to remove debris and slurry.
  • Allow the wheels to air dry completely before storing.
  • Store in a clean, dry location away from direct sunlight and corrosive substances.
  • Inspect periodically for signs of wear or damage. Replace worn drums as needed for optimal performance.

Safety Guidelines

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and a dust mask.
  • Disconnect power before changing or inspecting drum wheels.
  • Keep bystanders at a safe distance during operation.
